China industrial output growth weakest in nearly three years

Futures briefly tick higher after data

Traders work on the floor of the New York Stock ExchangeNEW YORK (Reuters) - Stock index futures briefly edged higher on Thursday after data showed new U.S. claims for unemployment benefits dipped last week, allaying some concerns about the slowing economic recovery. S&P 500 futures rose 8.3 points and were above fair value, a formula that evaluates pricing by taking into account interest rates, dividends and time to expiration of the contract. Dish Network adds more subscribers than expected

Toyota says China sales in April up 68 percent
